The 2017 Lexus IS updates are subtlety at its finest

The 2017 Lexus IS updates are all about nuance; changing a formula that topped the BMW 3 Series when it was released, winning Car and Driver and Road and Track’s sports sedan comparisons is no simple matter, so it makes sense that Lexus have proceeded with caution.

Even so, the subtle changes for the new-generation vehicle arriving in 2017 are impressive and, most importantly, showcase the essence of Lexus design at its finest. Firstly, Lexus have included new colour options to the interior of the IS, so the list now reads: Black, Chateau, Flaxen, and Nuance Black. The luxurious F-SPORT package includes a choice of Black, Chateau, and Rioja Red. New trim options complement the new colours to create a beautifully balanced cabin, showcasing the talents of Lexus’ famous ‘Takumi’ craftspeople with options including Chateau, Nuance Black, Illustrious Piano Black, and Grey Sapele Wood.

A re-designed central console allows a more ergonomic and intuitive driving experience, and revised steering wheel switches allow for a driver-oriented experience that keeps the focus on the road. A new speedometer and tachometer will also make their debut, blending seamlessly with the suave interior. Technology has not been missed either, and Lexus’ Safety System+ will now be offered as a standard feature. This intelligent system includes Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Intelligent High Beam and High-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control.

This update of the classic Lexus IS will undoubtedly be as impressive as its predecessor, which is available for you to explore here at Lancaster to keep your excitement at bay before the new generation is released next year.
