The GranTurismo MC bears its Maserati Corsa suffix with pride. By far the more aggressive GT in both looks and performance it ensures thrill-seeking car enthusiasts have gratifying power at their command. Maserati has taken the already impressive GranTurismo and executed the difficult task of making it even better. The GranTurismo MC has all the thrilling elements of an Italian performance car and the poise, elegance and power to elevate it further.
Maserati continues to make strides in safety advancements; the GranTurismo MC is no exception to this. It features the Maserati Stability Program (MSP) taking safety technology to extremes: by this we mean it was tested to withstand the most extreme conditions. The MSP utilises a multitude of sensors and deploys a range of safety and performance systems to ensure the driver maintains grip and remains in complete control in all road conditions.
Maserati has created the perfect balance of comfort, control and power. The GranTurismo MC is powered by a potent petrol-powered 4.7 litre Ferrari-built V8 engine providing 460hp and a top speed of 185mph. The GranTurismo MC features a front spoiler, vents and side skirts integrated in re-designed front bumper, which channels airflow beneath the car at high-speed to create downforce, naturally cool the brakes, increase aerodynamics and stability in those tight corners. The GranTurismo MC is clearly differentiated from models with the newly-incorporated carbon fibre bonnet and hexagonal ‘sharknose’ grille making this model more angular. The grille is flanked by larger air ducts that help to reduce the drag co-efficient with the GranTurismo MC making the 0-62mph dash in just 4.8 seconds.
The GranTurismo MC’s most striking interior feature is the re-vamped fascia, which hosts new switchgear and is complimented by the high-tech 8.4” touchscreen display. The Maserati Touch Control (MTC) screen provides swift control over the on-board equipment and allows the occupants to access the phone, satnav, media or climate control features at the touch of a finger. Maserati also has a built-in voice command option to ensure the driver distractions are limited. The MTC is fully compatible with both Apple and Android devices. The GranTurismo MC provides gratifying entertainment for all its occupants, with this model featuring a high-specification Harman Kardon premium sound system with eleven cabin speakers as standard.
The dynamic silhouette of the GranTurismo MC makes for a mouth-watering vision. Maserati has individualised the MC model even further, offering the option of a carbon-fibre bonnet sporting a central air intake and twin side vents, saving weight and looking exquisite. The GranTurismo MC also differs from the Sport with a carbon fibre front splitter and headlamp trims, ensuring no one mistakes this Maserati for anything other than a GranTurismo MC. The car stays true to its Italian grand touring roots with reference to the timeless Pininfarina design.
Inside, the GranTurismo MC continues with the race-inspired theme, sporting four single wrap-around seats that offer unparalleled comfort for four lucky occupants. Maserati has provided the option of carbon fibre seatbacks, and an option of three steering-wheel designs: hand-made leather, leather and Alcantara or leather and carbon fibre.
