The 2015 Dubai Motor Show will showcase an exciting development from Maserati with the 2+2 Alfieri concept appearing in public for only the second time. Our first glimpse of the concept was at the Geneva Auto Expo in 2014 a variation of the model could go on sale at some point in 2016.
Taking its name from Alfieri Maserati – one of the famous Maserati brothers – it is designed to act as a transition between the 100-year past of the Italian manufacturer and the future.
With a neat, aerodynamic look, the concept has an elongated bonnet and low nose while the traditional Maserati grille sits between the bold headlights. Completing the exterior look, the wheel arches have triple air ducts and the rear pillar features Maserati’s exclusive Saetta badge. The cabin continues the feeling of simplicity, with smooth curves and an uncluttered dashboard.
Whether or not the concept reaches our roads in its current format remains to be seen, but the Alfieri 2+2 does provide us with an insight into the future direction of the marque. Simplicity seems to be the focus and Maserati fans can look forward to more developments in the short term.
