Our five-day Le Mans Tour is the perfect blend of motor racing and French culture where we will visit the world famous Circuit de la Sarthe where McLaren, at their first attempt back in 1995, joined other motor manufacturing legends by winning this grueling 24 hour endurance race. From Thursday 13th June to Monday 17th June 2019, you can experience the exhilarating atmosphere of Le Mans as well as the chance to tour the Loire Valley as part of our unique group, returning each evening to the picturesque Hotel Le Flueray, a former country farmhouse in the heart of the Loire Valley countryside.
After an 6.30am departure from Folkestone, we travel by Flexiplus ticket via Eurotunnel en route to Calais. Once in France, we will drive in a magnificent convoy of 15 plus McLarens down to the Loire Valley stopping for lunch in the historic Cathedral town of Sées. After a late afternoon arrival at our hotel, we meet for welcome drinks followed by an exceptional three course meal.
Following a leisurely breakfast, we again drive in convoy through the Loire Valley to the magnificent Château de Chaumont and its wonderful grounds. We then undertake the short drive to the historic town of Amboise, where you will have time for lunch and a visit to the Leonardo da Vinci House and Exhibition. In the afternoon we drive to Vouvray where we visit Cave des Producteurs de Vouvray for a guided tour and wine tasting before returning to our hotel for a gourmet evening meal.
Shortly after breakfast, our six helicopters land at the rear of the hotel to whisk us away on a magical flight across the Loire Valley countryside to Circuit de la Sarthe at Le Mans, arriving in good time to watch some of the supporting races, take in the pre-race atmosphere and have a good look around this world famous track. Lunch will be served in the Panoramic Restaurant before the race commences at 3.00pm. After viewing some spectacular racing, and perhaps enjoying the Le Mans museum, we return to the Panoramic Restaurant for a three course evening meal whilst overlooking the start and finish straight. The day is concluded by watching some nighttime racing.
Following a well-deserved sleep, Sunday has a lazy start followed by your choice of a day at leisure, a drive out to a fascinating French Lifestyle Museum followed by lunch in Chinon or returning to Le Mans to watch the finishing laps and prize giving. In the evening we host a Farewell Celebration Dinner to commemorate this wonderful trip.
As we bid our hotel hosts bon voyage, we drive in convoy back towards Calais during which we will encounter many interesting and exotic vehicles also returning to the UK! However, you may wish to travel alone and stop off in a French village for lunch or detour to stock up on wine. Either way, you will have the benefit with your Flexiplus ticket to board the train and depart at a time of your choice.
