The Mercedes-AMG GT S is the true essence of Mercedes sporting prowess, distilling classic sporting elements and modern technology to create a stunning masterpiece of racing prowess. The second sports car to be designed entirely in-house by Mercedes-AMG, it includes the first sports car engine to feature internally mounted turbochargers and dry sump lubrication with an output of 510hp.
The 4.0-litre V8 BITURBO engine delivers an incredible performance, racing from 0 to 100km/h in only 3.8 seconds, accompanied with exciting driving dynamics that make it a joy to drive on roads and racetracks alike. Optimised for everyday comfort, the two-seater car provides a spacious cabin plus a practical tailgate and easily accessible luggage compartment.
The GT S is sporty from the word go, with classic characteristics such as the long, muscular bonnet and rear-wheel-drive proportions that emphasise the emotive design, and adjustable sports suspension allows unparalleled comfort when driving.
AMG high-performance composite brakes promise a reassuringly safe ride, with superior deceleration characteristics and high fade resistance. Brake discs measuring 360mm at the rear and 390mm at the front, the system is built to handle the exceptionally high performance of the Mercedes-AMG GT S, promising safety in any conditions.
The body of the GT S is made using an intelligent material mix for a highly rigid, weight-optimized body frame. The chassis and body are made using light alloy, the boot and lid from steel and the front deck with magnesium. This combination reduces weight where need as well as reducing unwanted flexibility. The agility is therefore much improved, the car responding with ultimate precision while the rigidity provides outstanding passive safety.
The standard fitted electronically controlled rear axle differential lock provides more sensitive, faster control, which improves handling dynamics and traction to allow for perfect, safer cornering at high speeds.
Specific S-Line characteristics set the GT S further apart,
with a high-gloss black air intake grille in the front apron to show off
sporting prowess, and red-painted brake callipers as an exclusive highlight.
Further touches inside continue to mark out the car’s luxury, such as AMG
sports seats upholstered in black ARTICO man-made leather and DINAICA micro
fibre, and an embossed AMG crest in the central armrest puts a true stamp of
luxury on the design. From inside to out, the GT S promises an unmistakeably
luxuriously sporty ride.
Exclusively available for the Mercedes-AMG GT S is the AMG DYNAMIC PLUS package, which increases dynamism and agility to a truly profound level. Soft engine and transmission mounts dampens noise and vibration for a smoother ride, while a stiffer mount set-up provides superb agility and handling for a true race-car feel.
The AMG DRIVE UNIT offers a dynamic range of functions, including a multitude of buttons to adjust the mode, transmission and ESP®. The DYNAMIC SELECT CONTROLLER offers a range of predefined modes for the ultimate drive in any condition. An individual ‘Race’ mode optimises the suspension and transmission to suit a race track, allowing the driver to truly feel the car’s power and agility.
The AMG instrument cluster is fine tuned to deliver the
sportiest experience possible, a high resolution 11.4cm TFT multifunction
display offers RACETIMER, which makes it possible to record and save individual
lap times for a true sports experience.
