Wonderfully refined and comfortable, yet tremendously assured on the road thanks to its wide selection of petrol or diesel engines, Mercedes’ new C-Class Coupé is set to become one of the most coveted executive cars of 2016.
You can find out more about the outstanding new Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupé at any of the Lancaster Mercedes dealerships in Chelmsford, Colchester, Ipswich, Lakeside (Thurrock) and Southend.
A variety of sophisticated stability-enhancing systems are in place to ensure that you are always in control of your C-Class Coupé.In addition to ABS and an effective but never intrusive Electronic Stability Programme, the Collision Prevention Assist function ensures that you do not stray too close to the vehicle in front – even applying the brakes automatically if a collision appears to be imminent. The Attention Assist system also sounds an audible warning if it detects signs of fatigue on the motorway. If an accident does occur, occupants are protected by the vehicle’s strong frame, along with dual-stage driver, passenger, side, pelvis, driver’s knee and window airbags.
Although immediately recognisable as part of the C-Class family, the Coupé has more than enough character of its own to set it apart from the saloon and estate.
The lengthy bonnet and the vigorous sweep of the roofline is a clear indication of the car’s performance capabilities, complemented by the rising character lines of the side panels.
The gaping air intakes and characteristic diamond-patterned grille differentiate the coupé further from its siblings, whilst adding the necessary extra touch of aggression.
C-Class Coupé buyers are offered a choice of 2.0 litre petrol or 2.1 litre diesel engines, both available with two different power outputs. The petrol unit supplies 184hp or 245hp; together with the car’s modest weight of a little over 1.5 tons, these engines generate excellent performance levels. When fitted with the 7G-Tronic Plus seven-speed automatic transmission, the more powerful 245hp version can thrust the Coupé from 0-62mph in just 7.3 seconds. This vast amount of power, however, is surpassed by the more powerful diesel, which boasts 500Nm torque and boasts an even better 0-62mph acceleration figure of 6.7 seconds.
