Mercedes-Benz GLA Plug-in Hybrid 2021

DESIGN

The GLA Plug-in Hybrid is a sporty crossover with a coupé-like side profile, but inside the cabin you’ll find it offers plenty of room for a family. Styling is sleek and clean, with few sharp crease lines and a bold diamond radiator grille, whilst off-road touches include short overhangs front and rear as well as plastic cladding on the wheel arches and bumpers. The modern luxury interior is emphasised with ambient lighting and the addition of the battery has minimal impact on the boot space, with a still impressive capacity of 445-litres.

TECHNOLOGY

As with all the latest generation Mercedes-Benz models, the new GLA features the acclaimed MBUX infotainment system, which is controlled either via ‘Hey Mercedes’ voice command or touchpad. For example, to find a charging station on the move, simply say: ‘Hey Mercedes, find charging stations nearby’. Alternatively, Mercedes me Charge provides access to a growing number of charging networks and makes easy work of paying for top-ups via a monthly bill. Standard equipment includes a 10.25” touchscreen display and a 10.25” digital instrument cluster depending on your chosen trim. When planning a journey, the sat-nav takes into account things like speed limits and route to prioritise the electric driving mode for when its going to be most beneficial in the journey. Wireless smartphone charging is included as standard and you’re able to set the climate control before getting into the car from your phone for optimum comfort.
