DESIGN

The Boxster 25 Years pays homage to the original concept design that debuted at the 1993 Detroit Motor Show, whilst also adopting features from the 1996 1st generation Boxster. One of the most eye-catching features is the pops of Neodyme – a copper-like shimmering brown that appears on the front apron, side air intakes, lettering, and 20” two-tone alloy wheels. This is designed to contrast with the three available paint finishes: GT Silver Metallic, Deep Black Metallic, and Carrara White Metallic. The convertible top is made of red fabric to match the upholstery (you can opt for black if you’d prefer) and is embossed with ‘Boxster 25’ lettering, in keeping with the style of the original. Inside, you’ll find Bordeaux leather complemented by brushed aluminium elements surrounding the dashboard and centre console. Emphasising the special nature of the Boxster 25 Years, you’ll also find a ‘Boxster 25’ plaque above the glove compartment with your own limited-edition number of the 1,250 models built.

PERFORMANCE

The Boxster 25 Years uses the same 4.0-litre six-cylinder engine found in the 718 Boxster GTS 4.0, putting out a hearty 395bhp. It’s available with manual and PDK automatic gearboxes, reaches a top speed of 182mph and can do the 0 – 62mph sprint in as little as 4 seconds. This impressive power is matched with high agility and responsiveness, as well as dynamic handling and comfort thanks to the sports suspension (lowering the ride height by 10mm) and Porsche Torque Vectoring. The Sport Chrono package is included as standard and enhances performance with four driving modes – Normal, Sport, Sport Plus and Individual – Launch Control, Motorsports-Inspired Gear Shifting, Sport Response and Dynamic Transmission Mounts. All making for a powerful, highly dynamic, and confidence-inspiring drive.

TECHNOLOGY

The Boxster 25 Years features a lot of the same tech as the 718 Boxster GTS 4.0, including the Porsche Communication Management infotainment system displayed on a 7” touchscreen. However, in this special edition model you’re also treated to upgraded LED headlights, 14-way electric sports seats, and a heated steering wheel, as standard. There’s also the Track Precision App, which shows and records performance-related data, if you fancy testing the car’s power outside the restrictions of the road. You can also upgrade the sound system to Bose Surround or spend a bit extra for the tier topping Burmester sound system.

SAFETY

The LED headlights feature the Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus as standard, and there’s a range of driver assistance systems available as additional options such as Park Assist with reversing camera, Lane Change Assist, or adaptive cruise control.
