To celebrate the official opening of the relocated and newly built Porsche Centre East London showroom, around 500 customers attended an entertaining evening on Thursday 18th June 2015. The brand new showroom has relocated from Stratford and has grown in size, with an 18 car showroom and a 10 bay workshop. With the great size of the showroom, Porsche Centre East London utilised their space and displayed a fantastic array of vehicles on the night. The guests were also entertained by a DJ and Saxophonist and food and drink was presented throughout the evening.
One of the main talking points of the evening was the 919 (scale model) which recently came first and second at Le Mans 2015. The 917 was also there, as was the 918 Spyder which was kindly loaned to Porsche East London for the launch evening from Mr James Richardson, a Porsche Centre Colchester customer.
Porsche Centre East London had two exclusives for customers, the 911 GT3 RS in Lava Orange and the Cayman GT4, the launch night was the first time these vehicles were publicly shown in the UK. A Porsche Centre East London customer, Neil Plumpton kindly allowed the centre to display his 911 Sport Classic, Neil’s vehicle is number six of a limited run of 250 cars for worldwide production.
Throughout the evening Porsche enthusiasts had the opportunity to answer specialised questions about Porsche on competition cards which were then entered into a drawer. The winners were announced towards the end of the evening with three lucky winners receiving a Porsche watch, a Porsche iPad case and a set of Porsche sunglasses.
Ivan Howell, Porsche East London Centre Principal hosted the evening delivering a speech for guests about the new Centre, followed by Jardine Motors Group CEO, Mark Herbert and Porsche GB Managing Director, Chris Craft who presented an official opening plaque to the centre.
The cars on display followed through to the 10 bay workshop which showcased the current Porsche models, the Porsche Centre East London restoration project in the form of a 911 2.2T (1972), another customer vehicle - a yellow GT3 RS and Porsche Centre East London Technician Dave Neil’s GT3. The parts department hosted an accessories area selling items such as keyrings, mug and caps which proved very popular for guests attending the evening.
Ivan Howell, Porsche East London Centre Principal was very pleased with how the launch was received by customers.
Ivan said: “From the customers I spoke to and the feedback received since the launch evening, the comments have been very complimentary about the new showroom and workshop and is in customers’ minds a credit to the business and team here at Porsche East London.”
