REMEMBERING 2021 | PORSCHE
The year of 2021 brought some exceptional new additions to the Porsche family and the launch of a whole host of projects.
Boxster 25th Year Edition
Very early in the year the anniversary edition of the Boxster was launched the ‘Boxster 25th Year Edition’ This was limited to just 1,250 examples worldwide and made several visual references to the design features of the Boxster concept car. Some of the most striking features of the special model are the reinterpreted colour Neodyme, a copper-like shimmering brown and in keeping with the style of the historic origin, the special model combines a Bordeaux leather interior with a red fabric convertible top.
We also had the expansion of the Taycan family in 2021, sitting alongside Taycan Turbo, Taycan Turbo S, Taycan 4S and the Taycan Cross Turismo we were introduced to the Taycan powered by a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor at the rear axle, with the same unmistakeable exterior features it makes this Taycan no different to all the others just as striking and timeless, creating the perfect blend of performance and everyday useability. As we enter 2022, we have also had the arrival of the Taycan GTS & the Taycan GTS Sport Turismo, proof that GTS has arrived in the electric world and introducing the world’s first Sport Turismo. Engaging dynamics and exceptional comfort the Sport Turismo offers generous space and practicality. The GTS models also offer exclusive interior and exterior features making it recognisable from every angle.
Back in February the seventh edition of the 911 GT3 its kind was created. Exceeding all your expectations! The new 911 GT3 was developed in close collaboration with Porsche Motorsport to create a brilliant driving machine that not only has the capabilities on the track but is superb for everyday use too. Significant aerodynamic changes have been made to generate more down force including a carbon bonnet with integrated air outlets, rear diffuser with large slats, the new rear wing with swan neck connections and front apron with extended openings for optimised brake cooling all inspired by motorsport.
Cayenne GT Turbo
So far, all the models of Cayenne have demonstrated impressive performance, versatile practicality, and a striking appearance. Porsche have taken the overall concept of the Cayenne and added the superb racetrack capability to create the Cayenne GT Turbo, The Cayenne GT Turbo is consistently set up for maximum performance and handling being powered by a four-litre biturbo V8 that provides the basis for superb driving characteristics. The Cayenne GT Turbo effortlessly combines outstanding driving dynamics with a high degree of everyday usability. Making it the ultimate SUV.
Stronger, sharper, sportier – the all-new Macan. Back in August Porsche launched the all-new Macan with increased performance, a sharper design, and a new operating concept. All three models offer significantly more power than the previous models operated by a 2.0-litre inline four-cylinder turbo engine and the 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 engine efficiently producing outstanding power and torque. Porsche has further sharpened the visuals of its compact SUV with a number of specific changes, the redesigned nose with an inlay in the exterior colour and the rear has now been redesigned to incorporate the new black diffuser. The Macan is available in 14 colours, including the new colours Papaya Metallic and Gentian Blue Metallic, as well as Python Green for the Macan GTS.
718 Cayman GT4 RS
Perfectly irrational – The 718 Cayman GT4 RS is the newest member of the 718 family, designed to impress with its lightweight construction, extremely agile chassis set-up, sophisticated aerodynamics and unique soundtrack. The naturally aspirated flat-six engine, familiar from the 911 GT3 Cup racing car and the 911 GT3 series production model, forms the centrepiece of a sports car that has been designed for maximum driving pleasure.
Panamera Platinum Edition
Heading to the end of 2021, The Panamera Platinum Edition was launched, a product of passion and enthusiasm combining elegance and exclusivity. The Panamera Platinum Edition is stylish and has excellent dynamics including 21-inch Exclusive Design Sport wheels and many features finished in satin platinum. The Panamera Platinum Edition is the unique combination of luxury, limitless comfort & exclusive design highlights.
Paint to Sample
And lastly, we rounded off the year with a big announcement, the expansion of exterior colours, the new Paint to Sample and Paint to Sample plus options, added more than 160 shades to the collection. Some “cult” classics from the 1990’s have already been predefined by Porsche paint specialists some of these include Maritime Blue, Rubystar & Mint Green. Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur recognised the unique requests and individuality customers wanted for their vehicles and developed shades that are diverse, reminiscent of those classic times & most of all personal. The offer is set to be integrated into the Porsche Car Configurator from early 2022. With online filter options, for example by colour family, and background information on the individual colours to follow.
