The 2019 International Motor Show in Frankfurt will see the debut of both the KAMIQ and SCALA Monte Carlo.
The KAMIQ will get a new top trim level later in 2019 with a Monte Carlo version - which uses dynamic features in black to evoke the brand’s successful rally history, plus upgraded equipment levels.
The KAMIQ Monte Carlo comes with a glossy black frame surrounding the grille. The black detailing also extends to parts of the front bumper, the wing mirror caps, roof rails, side sills and the central ŠKODA lettering on the tailgate.
This trim is available with the full range of KAMIQ engines and has black 17-inch alloy wheels as standard (with 18-inch alloys available as an option). The trim level includes sunset-tinted side windows and a panoramic roof, a black rear diffuser, black model designations and full-LED tail-lights.
The interior includes height-adjustable sports seats featuring a specific Monte Carlo design and integrated headrests for the driver and front passenger. The multi-function sports steering wheel is covered in perforated leather with red decorative seams, as are the gear selector and handbrake lever.
The LED ambient lighting also comes in red and illuminates the centre console, door storage compartments, door handles and footwells. The decorative trims and instrument panel have their own standalone design, with the air vents in the dashboard sporting a chrome look and the pedal trim featuring an aluminium design. Special floor mats, KAMIQ lettering on the door sills and a black roof lining complete the interior.
Frankfurt will also see the first look at the all-new SCALA Monte Carlo with the first vehicles expected in the UK from the beginning of 2020.
The new trim pays homage to the car maker’s successful rally history and uses distinctive black elements and black ŠKODA lettering at the rear to give the SCALA an even sportier look.
The Monte Carlo designation refers to the urban district of the Principality of Monaco, which is synonymous with glitz and glamour – as well as over one hundred years of motor racing history. First held in 1911, the Monte Carlo Rally has the longest tradition of all the events forming part of today’s World Rally Championship series, and ŠKODA achieved some of its greatest motor racing successes there.
The frame of the distinctive ŠKODA grille flanked by full-LED headlights is finished in glossy black, and parts of the redesigned front apron also come in black. Black ŠKODA lettering takes the place of the central logo on the tailgate and the vehicle’s side profile is defined by black 17-inch alloy wheels (18-inch optional) with a special Monte Carlo design, as well as black wing mirror caps and side sills.
Standard equipment for the SCALA Monte Carlo trim includes SunSet tinted side windows, a panoramic roof and extended rear window complete with a black roof spoiler. A black rear diffuser and black model designations as well as full-LED tail-lights round off the sporty appearance of the new SCALA range-topper.
The height-adjustable sports seats come with integrated headrests and special Monte Carlo upholstery, and the decorative trims and instrument cluster also feature a unique Monte Carlo design.
The multifunction sports steering wheel is covered in perforated leather bearing the same red decorative seams as the leather finish for the gearstick and handbrake lever. Red LED ambient lighting illuminates the centre console, footwells and door storage compartments and handles.
The air vents in the instrument panel have a chrome look, and the Monte Carlo also includes LED reading lights. Aluminium-design pedals, special floor mats, SCALA lettering on the door sills and a black roof lining round off the sporty interior.
