ŠKODA’s Yeti crossover has reached a production milestone of 500,000 units, and the manufacturer’s team marked the occasion with a photo as the car made its way through the plant.
The model was a Yeti Monte Carlo finished in Corrida Red with contrasting dark alloy wheels and matching door mirrors – defining features of the mid-range Monte Carlo trim. LED rear lights, stainless steel exhaust pipes and bespoke badging also help the model to stand out.
The landmark vehicle was produced at ŠKODA’s Kvasiny plant in its native Czech Republic, where many thousands more will no doubt be manufactured. “Since its introduction, the Yeti has delighted customers in Europe and the international markets,” commented Michael Oeljeklaus, ŠKODA Board Member for Production and Logistics.
“We owe this success not least to the team in Kvasiny. It is with their technical skills, their expertise and the highest commitment that they essentially shape the excellent reputation of the plant. Over the next few years, Kvasiny’s production volume will increase significantly. SUV production is going to play an important role in this.”
The Yeti was the first SUV to be manufactured by ŠKODA and has proven to be one of its best-loved creations. The standard Yeti is perfect for on-road adventures with its spacious cabin and clean output, while the Yeti Outdoor has a more rugged design and four-wheel drive capability.
