The wraps came off the new Avensis at the Geneva Motor Show, revealing the latest evolutions of Toyota’s popular family car. The all new Avensis has received some of the most comprehensive updates to any platform in the company’s history.
In fact, hardly any part of the Avensis escaped the surgeon’s knife. The front end has been revised to match the rest of the Toyota range, with new LED headlights, a new bumper and bonnet. At the rear there are more new LED lights, and the entire car is 40mm longer than before. Changes to the chassis improved ride and handling, and more insulation helps to lower noise and vibration levels in the (also refreshed) cabin. There are two new diesels in the range, and all the engines have been tweaked for better fuel consumption and lower emissions. The Avensis will continue to be built at Toyota’s UK plant in Burnaston.
Sales will likely begin in June 2015, and you can test drive the estate or hatchback shape as soon as they arrive at Lancaster Toyota.
