At the Geneva Motor Show at the start of this month, Volkswagen premiered their latest concept car which is setting the course for Volkswagen’s future – the T-Cross Breeze.
This is the first convertible SUV in the Polo class that has been designed and signifies Volkswagen’s intention to offer an exciting SUV in every relevant class. Volkswagen will be releasing the Tiguan SUV this year, followed by sports utility vehicle versions of the Touareg and Golf.
The T-Class remains purely a concept at the moment, but Klaus Bischoff, Head of Design for the Volkswagen Brand, says: “The T-Cross Breeze reflects the new start of our brand. We want to stir enthusiasm for ‘New Volkswagen’.”
With the T-Cross Breeze, Volkswagen are presenting a new, fun experience in motoring coupled with advanced technology and smart design. Volkswagen Brand Chairman, Dr Herbert Diess, states that this intended to be a “genuine ‘People’s Car’…an affordable, cheeky cabriolet with a raised seating position that gives you the perfect view.”
If the T-Cross is only the beginning, no doubt there are plenty of other exciting ideas in store and we are looking forward to seeing the rest of the “New Volkswagen”.
