Safety

A reassuring front, side, cranial and driver's knee airbag system has been specifically created for the Golf Cabriolet, combining with the three-point seatbelt system to deliver all-encompassing passenger protection.

The galvanised, laser-welded body of the vehicle is exceptionally rigid, with reinforced window frames and structural modifications for increased security.

Design

The model's glamorous exterior is accented with swept lights and a blend of chrome and glossy black finishes, with LED technology used in the rear light clusters for the first time.

Twin tailpipes and a redesigned front air intake add a racing edge to the convertible's stunning looks.

The stylish power hood with integrated rear windscreen marks the model's focus point, and is fully electronically operated in less than ten seconds at speeds of up to 18mph.

Two plush, cloth-covered sports seats within the Golf Cabriolet's deceptively spacious cabin are surrounded by “Edge" decorative inserts, vibrant contrasting red stitching across the steering wheel and handbrake, aluminium-look pedals and chrome-plated instrument surrounds.

Upholstery can be selected in a range of soft fabrics and elegant colour schemes to suit individual requirements.

Soundproofing and insulation are provided by the three-layer roof, minimising exterior noise and ensuring more refined and comfortable journeys.

Technology

A generous 1.2-litre petrol engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission is fitted to the Golf Cabriolet as standard, resulting in the model's top speed of 116mph. You can opt for a petrol or diesel engine from Volkswagen's efficient selection, with economical BlueMotion versions incorporating fuel-saving Start/Stop technology.

While certain models use battery regeneration systems to return power to the vehicle's drivetrain. Bluetooth connectivity is provided within the cabin, in addition to a racing-style instrument panel, Highline multifunction trip computer, and state-of-the-art CD/DAB digital radio with MP3 compatibility.
