Volkswagen have packed decades of innovation into their world-leading technology that help take the hard work out of driving, and ensure that you're safe. Check out some of the top of the range technological features below.
Small gestures achieve a lot in every day, so why not in your car too? With Volkswagen's Gesture Control, it is now even more convenient to operate the optional Discover Navigation Pro system. It enables you to move around in the main menu and various sub menus using right to left swiping gestures, enabling you to be able to switch pages.
With one hand movement you can switch the radio, song or photos. Of course, if you are more comfortable using the traditional control options - they are available to use any time too.
Cruise control can make long journeys safer and a lot more comfortable by regulating your car's speed for you. By electronically helping to regulate your car's speed, it reduces the stress on drivers and offers you more comfort on those longer journeys by keeping a constant speed. It is particularly effective when you need to stay within speed limits for a long way, or driving through miles of roadworks on the motorway, by cutting the risk of your speed creeping up by accident.
The system works by maintaining the system you select, it is flexible too. So you can increase or reduce the speed manually, or returning to the last speed memorised.
When you no longer need the system, you can switch if off by pressing a button or pressing on the brake or clutch pedals.
For safety reasons, the cruise control system should not be used in heavy traffic or in difficult road conditions, such as heavy rain or ice.
Not a fan of parking? Us either. With park assist, your car will practically park itself, cleverly steering into the tightest of spaces with the touch of a button. All you need to do is work the pedals.
How does the system work? When you want to parallel park, you just press the Park Assist button and use the indicator before your car passes the space. The ultrasonic sensors in the front bumpers will scan the space to see if it is big enough. You then stop the car, select reverse and let go of the steering wheel. The park assist system will then show you its intended reverse path on your multi functional display and steer into the space.
Don't worry, even though you don't have to steer, you're always in control of your car - working the accelerator, brake and/or clutch. Plus you can reactivate the system immediately by taking over the steering or by braking to a standstill.
By having a camera in the back of your car, it shows you what is behind you to make reversing even safer and easier - as you can spot any obstacles (stationary or moving) quickly. The camera starts working as soon as you put your car into reverse, and it shows the area behind your car on your radio or radio navigation system display, so you have a clear reversing image with easy to follow guidelines.
By using the rear view camera, you'll be bale to quickly manoeuvre into the most difficult parking spaces, and to help you get out of those awkward busy car parks. Not to mention that the reversing camera is also a great help when you're hitching up a trailer.
