Jardine Motors Group, trading as Lancaster, has raised a total of £258,559 for Whizz-Kidz in the first year of its Corporate Charity Partnership.
The impressive total was achieved through a wide variety of individual, dealership and company sponsored events including 'Go Green Day's to launch the partnership, dinner dances, sporting events and even a casino night. In addition a fully restored 1982 Porsche 911 SC was auctioned and raised £52,000 alone at the Lancaster Whizz-Kidz Charity Ball.
Mark Herbert, Chief Executive of Jardine Motors Group commented: “This is a phenomenal result and far exceeds the internal target we set ourselves at the beginning of our partnership with Whizz-Kidz. I am delighted with how our staff have got behind this partnership with such enthusiasm and am extremely proud of the ingenuity they have shown with their fund raising activities. I am also very grateful for the generosity that our customers have shown in helping us to reach this impressive total."
Ruth Owen OBE, Chief Executive of Whizz-Kidz said: “At Whizz-Kidz, we believe that every young disabled person has the right to a fun and active childhood, and the chance to develop their full potential in life. We work hard to transform the lives of disabled children across the UK, supporting them to become confident and independent young adults.
We are delighted to have the support of Jardine Motors Group, as our exclusive automotive fundraising partners. In addition to the phenomenal fundraising they are carrying out, Jardine Motors Group are also providing Work Placements for young people across the country, giving them the tools, confidence and skills they need for a bright future. Mark Herbert continued: “We have already begun planning for the second year of our partnership and hope to match our first year total. I am looking forward to hearing the many success stories across our business as we engage with our customers and communities in support of this fantastic cause."
