Aston Martin Vantage GT12

Introduction

After taking both the 2015 Geneva Motor Show and Goodwood Festival of Speed by storm, Aston Martin’s Vantage GT12 is set for release during October 2015. Its dramatic appearance, and the performance generated by its 6.0 litre naturally-aspirated V12 engine, blur the line between the manufacturer’s road and racing cars more than ever before.

Safety

The raw, powerful appeal of the car does not mean any compromise in terms of safety. The 19" magnesium alloy wheels are clad in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres and are linked to Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, assuring extremely low stopping distances.

A variety of traction-enhancing systems keep the stability of the vehicle high, whilst never dampening its ardent spirit.

Design

As the most performance-focused of all Aston Martin's exhilarating sportscars, the Vantage GT12 has a redoubtable standard to meet – but it does so with aplomb. It takes elements from the V12 Vantage S road car and Vantage GT3 racing car to create something new, yet unmistakeably Aston Martin. The use of lightweight carbon fibre and titanium elements mean that it weighs 1565kg – 120kg than the V12 Vantage S. A wider, lower frame, large front splitter and huge rear wing, meanwhile, add to the Vantage GT12's road presence as well as reducing drag.

The interior of the Vantage GT12 is also aimed at providing the greatest thrills possible.

Certain common elements, such as the electric seat mechanism and sound-deadening equipment standard to other models, has been stripped out to reduce weight and to allow you to concentrate on the driving experience. Although the ambience is slightly spartan, the Alcantara and leather-trimmed seats and upholstery means that the Vantage GT12 does not lack comfort.

Technology

The 6.0 litre V12 engine supplies up to 600PS and 625Nm of torque.

Along with its carefully engineered structure and reduced weight, this results in a 0-62mph acceleration time of just 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 185mph.

The three different driving modes – Normal, Sport and Track.

Enable you to adjust the speed of the seven-speed automated manual transmission, steering, dampers, throttle response, and even the note of the titanium exhaust.
