Of the traditional motors, the 30 TDI with the manual gearbox is capable of over 60mpg. As you would possibly expect, the petrol motor comes in as slightly less economical, though the mild hybrid design of the engines on the new Audi A3 mean good economy not the less – as over 50mpg is possible on both petrol options.
