DESIGNJaguar’s F-PACE may be a spacious luxury SUV, but the design team has given it plenty of the company’s famed feline grace. Jaguar’s ovoid honeycomb grille, slim headlights, bonnet bulge and muscular rear wheel arches convey its sporting character, and the tapering roofline gives the F-PACE a coupé-like profile. For this very special edition, Midnight Amethyst Gloss paint is complemented by Champagne Gold forged alloy wheels and exclusive Sunset Gold accents. A laser-etched Edition 1988 logo features on each front wing panel, while the Black Pack components are augmented by gloss black door mirror caps, brake callipers and wheel centre caps. Inside, the upholstery is in Ebony Black leather with heated-and-cooled front Performance seats. Unique Edition 1988 features include Sunset Gold Satin detailing across the dashboard, steering wheel spokes and gear shift paddles.
PERFORMANCE With its supercharged 500PS V8 engine, the F-PACE SVR can accelerate from 0-62mph in 4.0 seconds and reach a top speed of 178mph. Chassis and systems enhancements include the advanced Electronic Vehicle Architecture (EVA 2,0), recalibrated handling and throttle response and a Dynamic Launch feature. Revised suspension bushings and improved dampers also give it more control and compliance on the road. Larger air intakes, bonnet vents, side fender vents and rear spoiler help increase downforce and reduce drag.
TECHNOLOGY A new, intuitive and comprehensive infotainment system features a 12.3-inch central touchscreen with Navigation Pro as standard. Jaguar’s InControl interface responds to spoken instructions and the Smartphone pack offers both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay functionality.
SAFETYThe F-PACE has achieved the full 5-star Euro NCAP rating, thanks to standard driver assistance features such as Emergency Braking, which uses a front-facing camera to monitor for potential collisions and warn you in time to act. If no action is taken the system will apply the brakes autonomously. Other safety features include Driver Condition Monitor and Lane Keep Assist; the Navigation Pro system includes Traffic Sign Recognition while other options include a 360° camera and Blind Spot Assist.
