BMW 116D M Sport is available on BMW Select PCP.
This high performance two-door, four-seater coupé is a redesigned and reengineered model of its M4 ancestors, promising an unrivalled level of performance and track-inspired dynamics. The new M4 Competition Coupé marks a departure from the previous series, sporting a sharp, aggressive design identity and a significant level of track-ready technology.
A stripped back and frameless kidney grille, new horizontal double-bar design and a heavily contoured bonnet gives the front profile of the M4 Competition a raw and sporty presence. Drivers can choose between a range of four new BMW M paint trims, including the Isle of Man Green, Sao Paulo Yellow, Skyscraper Grey and Brooklyn Grey, as well as the classic BMW colours.
This boldness is complemented by the carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) roof, distinguished high-gloss black runner boards beneath the doors, Extended LED Headlights with Shadowline effect and the new choice of colour for brake calipers – Red, Blue or Black.
Staying true to its coupé genes, the M4 Competition showcases a muscular yet streamlined silhouette. With 19” (front) and 20” (rear) combination wheels to improve handling, the imposing stance gives the impression of leaning in. This is embellished with signature M features, available in High-Gloss Black or Carbon in the Carbon Package. At the rear there’s a carbon lip spoiler on the tailgate, plus a widened rear diffuser encompassing four 100mm-wide exhaust pipes.
Carbon Fibre trims found on interior details such as the gear selector, gear-shift paddles and the dashboard are available as standard for a renowned BMW M feel. As well as this, electric M Seats in Merino leather with the embedded M logo come as standard, or drivers can opt for the M Carbon bucket seats as an extra.
Featuring a new BMW M Auto Gear Box and track-inspired lightweight BMW M components, the BMW M4 Competition delivers 510hp and 650Nm of torque. The model hosts a 3.0 litre straight-six-cylinder M TwinPower Turbo engine, which comes with two turbocharges and the eight-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic as standard. The result? A speed of 0 to 62mph in only 3.9 seconds. The M4 Competition has a limited top speed of 155mph, but this can be upped to 180mph if the driver specs the optional M Pro Package.
Combined with the Active M Differential and other new track-inspired technologies, powerful performance is a given. As a two-rear-wheel drive (with a four-wheel drive model coming soon), precision handling will no doubt satisfy the high expectations of BMW fans.
To name a few features, the BMW M4 Competition Coup é boasts a Harmon Kardon Surround Sound System (comprising 16 speakers), a 10.25” Central Information Display, M specific Head-Up Display, Gesture Control and High Beam Assistant.
The model uses the BMW operating system 7.0 as well as the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, and smartphone integration is supported through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The set-up is optimised further by the M Digital Cockpit, which enhances the digital display with new Road, Sport or Track modes. Optional equipment is offered in additional packages – the Comfort Pack, Visibility Pack and Technology Plus Pack – depending on individual preference.
M Adaptive Suspension ensures the driver receives optimised tyre contact with the road and enhanced traction in most situations. To complement this, the M light alloy Double-Spoke Bicolour Black wheels, with a total of four design combinations, aid superior handling.
The Driving Assistant feature provides Lane Change Warning, Rear Crossing Traffic Warning and Rear Collision Prevention amongst others to add an extra layer of intelligence. As well as this, the Reversing Assistant with Reverse Camera and Active Park Distance Control will help provide a greater confidence to the driver when manoeuvring in and out of spaces.
