DESIGN

The X6 M is BMW at its boldest, from the dramatic illuminated BMW grille to the aggressive body kit, flared wheel arches, quad exhaust and rear spoiler. Bicolour alloy wheels are 21” diameter at the front and 22” at the rear, there’s a BMW M air vent behind the front wheels and the interior features M multifunctional seats and an M multifunctional steering wheel. Don’t be misled by the sleek coupé roofline – it’s still a 4/5-seater with ample headroom in the rear.

PERFORMANCE

For the X6 M Competition, BMW’s 4.4-litre V8 gets an M division makeover to 625HP and 750Nm of torque. The power goes to all four wheels via an eight-speed transmission, with BMW xDrive sensors sending most of the power rearwards until tyres break traction. 0-62mph takes just 3.8 seconds, 0-124mph a mere 13.2 seconds and top speed is electronically limited to 155mph. Compared with other X6 models the X6M Competition gains Adaptive M suspension Professional, an uprated active differential and large vented disc brakes with front six-piston callipers.

TECHNOLOGY

The standard specification of the X6 M Competition includes BMW Live Cockpit Professional and Connected Package Professional, so there’s little anyone would need to add. The technology includes a ‘Hey BMW’ Alexa-style personal assistant, connected navigation, real-time traffic updates, Apple CarPlay preparation and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Concierge Services connects you to a BMW Call Centre agent 24/7 and you can remotely access your BMW via the BMW Connected app.

SAFETY

BMW Emergency Call and cruise control with braking function are all part of the standard specification, as are the BMW Active Protection systems which include approach control warning, rear cross-traffic warning, lane change warning, lane departure warning and rear collision prevention. More autonomous assistance systems such as Lane Change assistant and evasion aid come with the optional Driving Assistant Professional.
