Imposing, powerful, and expressive are the adjectives you’d choose to describe the X7. Perhaps its most striking feature is the large, glowing kidney grille, closely followed by the split LED headlights. Light-alloy wheels range from 20” to 23” in size and, at the rear, slim 3D lights are emphasised by a chrome strip. A new Sparkling Copper Grey metallic paint finish is also available, whilst the M variant comes with exclusive features to emphasise its performance ability. Inside, Individual Extended Merino leather in Bicolour Ivory White and Atlas Grey evokes that unique BMW feeling alongside a minimalist cabin, which features a light bar illuminating the X7 or M logo. As standard the second row of seats is a three-seat bench, giving a total capacity of seven, but a six-seat configuration is also an option which gives two comfort seats in the second row. In need of storage space? You have 750 litres of it.

Three new and upgraded engines are offered with the latest BMW X7: a petrol, diesel, and performance-focused M variant. First up is the xDrive40i and its TwinPower Turbo 6-cylinder inline engine, which produces 380hp (47hp more than its predecessor) and 540Nm of torque, going from 0 – 62mph in 5.8 seconds. Next is the xDrive40d with a 6-cylinder inline diesel engine producing 352hp and 720Nm of torque, tuned for improved fuel economy. And last but certainly not least is the M60i xDrive, made up of a V8 petrol engine to produce a whopping 530hp and 750Nm of torque with a quad-pipe exhaust system. All engines come with 48V mild-hybrid technology, a new 8-speed automatic gearbox, air suspension, and BMW’s xDrive all-wheel drive system.

As it’s the SUV flagship of the BMW range, you can expect the X7 to have all the latest tech. It features BMW’s new operating system 8 together with a curved display made up of 12.3” and 14.9” screens, putting navigation, entertainment, and cabin settings at your fingertips. Alternatively, saying “Hey BMW” activates the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. Other highlights include the Digital Key Plus, which allows you to unlock the X7 with your phone, as well as smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and wireless charging. For enhanced comfort, you can opt for 5-zone climate control or a Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System.

That the BMW X7 provides you with all the safety and security you would expect from such a strong structure. Today, safety systems are increasingly sophisticated and focus on the avoidance of accidents rather than protection when they do happen. New driver assistance systems in the X7 include Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Parking Assistant, Trailer Assistant, Manoeuvre Assistant, and Reversing Assistant. The front-collision warning system reduces the danger of a collision and active roll stabilisation as part of Executive Drive Pro reduces vehicle movement.
