awards electrify BMW in 2015

The year of 2015 was highly successful for BMW, with the brand receiving overwhelming worldwide acknowledgement. With awards and distinctions given both nationally and internationally across the model range, BMW vehicles have been recognised in areas ranging from innovation, design and sporty flair to quality, sustainability and intelligent vehicle connectivity.

Attracting the most positive response in the last calendar year was the new BMW 7 Series, with more than 20 prizes in China alone. The luxury saloon won numerous accolades worldwide for its revolutionary design, technology, luxury performance and impressive agility.

The innovative i8 was voted ‘World Green Car of the Year’, received the ‘Paul Pietsch Prize’, was named ‘UK Car of the Year’ and the ‘most environment-friendly luxury car’ – its engine also received accolades, with the TwinPower Turbo 3-cylinder winning the ‘International Engine of the Year’ award.

Fellow electric i3 also gained international recognition, with the best compact car award in the ‘Best Cars 2015’ awards in China and ‘Car of the Year’ in Australia, as well as ‘Company Car of the Year’ by ‘Firmenauto’ magazine and DEKRA.

The BMW 1 Series, 2 Series, 4 Series, 5 Series, 6 Series, Z4, X1 and X3, as well as vehicles in the M Performance range, were also amongst the award-winners for the Bavarian manufacturer, with its limits seemingly knowing no bounds in the 2015 awards arena.

With prize-winners in various categories chosen by juries made up of automotive journalists, car magazine readers, international automotive experts and market researchers, the awards are difficult to get hold of and always well-deserved.

If the success of 2015 is anything to go by, BMW’s centenary year in 2016 will be moving onwards and upwards. To test drive an award-winning BMW, contact Lancaster BMW Milton Keynes – which model will you choose?
