BMW i8 Spyder

The Consumer Electronics Show in January is a technology-focused event, which would make it the perfect setting to unveil the revolutionary BMW i8 Spyder – and it has been rumoured that this is exactly what is going to happen in Vegas.

CES offers an opportunity to showcase the latest technology, so it’s the perfect place to exhibit advancements and wow the world with a striking, exciting new vehicle such as the refreshed BMW i8 Spyder Concept.

As the first sports car with the consumption and emission values of a compact car, the i8 is already leading the way in its field – and the Spyder is set to push BMW even further ahead. Offering progressive driving pleasure with convertible contentment, the Spyder has come a long way since its concept was first shown to the world in 2012.

After making improvements to connectivity and safety systems, as well as the car’s powertrain and battery pack, it’s expected that BMW will have increased the i8 Spyder’s electric-only range above the 23 miles of the Coupé – and there may even be an increase in power.

The current i8 hits 0 – 62mph in 4.4 seconds up to a top speed of 155mph using its 360 horsepower, so what will the Spyder do? We will have to wait and see what is revealed at CES in Las Vegas if BMW does unveil the i8 Spyder Concept.

The car is rumoured to be nearly production-ready, so maybe we will see the i8 Spyder on the roads with its roof down sooner than we thought.
