If you order your first Motability vehicle between 1st March 2023 - 31st December 2024 and have not yet received this payment before, you’ll get £750 towards the purchase of your car.
If you have already received a New Vehicle Payment of £250 direct from Motability between 1st March 2022 to 28th February 2023, you’ll get an extra £500 from Motability on any orders made after 1st March 2023. This will make your total payment from Motability to £750.
The New Vehicle Payment will only be paid once – Motability will not give customers another payment for their next lease.
I’m not on the Motability Scheme yet or I’m waiting for my first car or WAV
If you get or order your first vehicle on the Motability Scheme before the end of 2024, you’ll be eligible for a New Vehicle Payment from Motability. Customers will receive this shortly after you get your new vehicle from Motability.
I already have a car or WAV on the Motability Scheme
Customers will become eligible for the payment when they get their next vehicle on motability.
You can only get this payment once via Motability, so if you took delivery of your new vehicle since Motability introduced this payment, you will not receive another payment for your next lease.
I’ve already received the £250 New Vehicle Payment. Will I get the extra £500?
Yes. This £500 payment is available to everyone who’s been paid a £250 New Vehicle Payment on the Motability scheme.

Will I get this every time I get a new vehicle?
No – you can only get this payment once.
Will I still get the New Vehicle Payment if my lease is extended?
Yes. If you choose to extend your lease, you’ll get the New Vehicle Payment shortly after you get your next Motability car or WAV.
I’m looking to join the Scheme, but I’m not ready to order. What will happen if my vehicle doesn’t arrive until 2025?
As long as you order your first vehicle before the end of 2024, you’ll still be eligible for this payment, even if you don’t get your vehicle until 2025 or later.
Will this payment affect my Good Condition Payment?
No, this payment is separate.
It will not affect if you’re eligible or the amount you receive for the Good Condition Payment from Motability, or End of Contract Payment for scooter and powered wheelchairs.

Motability Scheme vehicles are leased to customers by Motability Operations Limited (Registered Company No. 1373876), City Gate House, 22 Southwark Bridge Road, London, SE1 9HB. To qualify you must be in receipt of the Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance (DLA), the Enhanced Rate Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (PIP), the War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement (WPMS) or the Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP) and applications must be made with participating Retailers.
