Battista awarded Hyper GT of the Year by Top Gear

The Automobili Pininfarina Battista has received the Hyper GT of the Year 2021 award from TopGear.com

There was a total of 18 winners chosen in this year’s awards by the expert panel of writers, with judges praising the Battista for its remarkable design and astounding performance.

“The Battista is a triumph given what it set out to achieve,” said Jack Rix, Editor of Top Gear magazine. “It’s beautiful inside and out, and violently fast. Mark my words, you will never get used to the Battista’s club-round-the-head acceleration, because the human body is simply not equipped to.

“At this stratospheric performance level, it’s all about conjuring up an experience that lodges in your brain and gets the adrenaline flowing. And it’s impossible to drive this car and not be mesmerised.”

Per Svantesson, Chief Executive Officer of Automobili Pininfarina, added: “The Automobili Pininfarina family is honoured that the Battista has been named ‘Hyper GT of the Year,’ by Top Gear. It’s an award that captures exactly what the Battista is about: the very pinnacle of sustainable luxury and electrified performance combined with sensational design.

“We are now ready to begin handcrafting customer cars at the Battista Atelier in Cambiano, Italy. Every Battista will be bespoke to the taste of its owner, yet each will offer the sublime blend of exquisite design and incredible performance that is now recognised by the Top Gear team. This award is a perfect reward for the team that has worked so hard to bring Battista to life.”

This award comes after the Battista took home the prestigious Design Award at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in October, held in Lake Como, Italy. The unique specification of the hyper GT was finished in Verde Paradiso paintwork with a tan leather interior.

Only 150 examples of the Battista will be hand-built, including five exclusive Battista Anniversario models. The pure-electric hyper GT, and most powerful production car to ever come out of Italy, is nearing its final phase of development and customers can hope to get behind the wheel of their unique Battista from early 2022.
