DESIGN All Range Rovers are distinguished by smooth, clean lines with a minimum of flourishes or ornamentation. The Range Rover Sport SV stands out thanks to an airflow-enhanced front end, reprofiled lower body sides and quad tailpipes at the rear. There’s some subtle carbon fibre detailing on the exterior, with the option of an exposed carbon fibre finish for the bonnet centre section. Inside, carbon fibre-backed SV Performance Seats feature illuminated SV logos and translucent edge-lit gear shift paddles, with the option of an Ultrafabrics™ PU 3D knit ‘zero waste’ material in place of traditional leather. Exclusive Edition One finishes are Carbon Bronze Matte, Obsidian Black Gloss or Flux Silver Gloss, and to emphasise these vehicles’ exclusivity you’ll find SV Edition One branding on the centre console, front splitter, treadplates and puddle lamps.
PERFORMANCE With its specially-tuned 635PS Twin-Turbocharged 4.4-litre V8 engine, the Range Rover Sport SV is ridiculously fast off the mark for a large luxury SUV – the 0-60 sprint takes just 3.6 seconds and top speed is 180 miles an hour. But even more impressive are the sophisticated chassis technologies that helps it to corner like a sports car. The hydraulic interlinked 6D Dynamics air suspension (a world first, says Range Rover) features pitch and roll control to keep the Range Rover Sport SV level during hard acceleration, cornering and braking. Even the wheels are special - ultra-lightweight 23-inch Carbon wheels deliver a weight reduction of over 40 percent compared to cast alloy, and customers can choose carbon ceramic brakes as an option. SV mode drops the vehicle by 15mm and sharpens up the steering and throttle response while intensifying the exhaust note from those carbon-fibre tipped quad tailpipes.
TECHNOLOGY As the bespoke division of Land Rover, SV Operations takes luxury and exclusivity to a higher level. The Range Rover Sport SV’s Body and Soul Seats (BASS), for example, deliver a multi-sensory experience through the seat, both intensifying the audio system and offering front seat occupants a choice of wellness settings. These are designed to influence heart rate variability (HRV) with a choice of Poise, Soothe, Serene, Cool, Tonic and Glow programmes. Meanwhile, the latest Pivi Pro 4 infotainment provides access to vehicle functions through central 13.1-inch floating glass display. Amazon Alexa and Land Rover voice control systems are fully integrated, while a new Country Road Assist technology uses navigation data to adjust speed according to terrain when in cruise control mode.
SAFETY Like every Range Rover Sport, the SV Edition One comes with an array of safety features, including emergency braking, 3D surround camera, adaptive cruise control with steering assist, driver condition response, lane keep assist, blind spot assist and rear traffic cross monitor. Traffic sign recognition and adaptive speed limiter help keep you within legal limits in town, while at lower speeds the front and rear parking aids warn you of obstacles in your path.
