Prius means ‘to go before’ and, as a genuine pioneer and the world’s leading hybrid, it has always held true to its name. Toyota’s advanced Hybrid Synergy Drive® technology has taken another step forward in the New Prius; an improved 1.8-litre petrol engine and new lightweight and compact electric engine work together in harmony to offer unbeatable environmental credentials and responsive performance.

The new fourth generation Toyota Prius hybrid has set a precedent with emissions of just 90mpg and 70g/km. Toyota has said the Prius will “establish new benchmarks in fuel economy” and it will be the first model to use Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA).

Initially revealed at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Prius will go on sale this March. The innovative e-4WD system will work with a downsized electric motor 1.8 litre petrol engine at speeds of up to 37mph and will boost grip in poor weather conditions. A new drivetrain means better performance and added boot capacity.

The Prius has a brand new styling thanks to the TNGA system. Tapered tail lights and large headlamps compliment a black C-pillar for added aerodynamics.
