The EU has developed a new test to measure fuel consumption and CO₂ figures called the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP). Official fuel consumption in mpg for the BMW 1 Series range is between 37.2 mpg and 62.8 mpg and CO₂ emission figures range between 119g/km and 174g/km.
