The EU has developed a new test to measure fuel consumption and CO₂ figures called the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP). Official fuel consumption in mpg for the Audi A4 range is between 38.7mpg and 58.9mpg and CO₂ emission figures range between 125g/km and 165g/km.
