DESIGN

The Taycan Turbo S is quite clearly a Porsche, with flared arches and 911-esque curves, a fluid yet sharp silhouette and familiar sloping roofline. But it also comes with modern tweaks to reflect its innovative architecture; an ultra-thin light strip and glass-look Porsche logo at the rear, ‘floating’ headlights, flush door handles, and an optional panoramic fixed glass roof. You’ll also find 21” Mission E Design wheels, high gloss black exterior fixtures, and striking yellow brake calipers. Inside, drivers enjoy a low, sporty seating position in 18-way electrically adjustable sports seats opposite a GT multifunction sports steering wheel. The sleek and minimalist interior is built around the driver, opting for touch-sensitive controls over physical switches. Owners can choose between sustainably treated OLEA club leather upholstery or high-quality Race-Tex, while the carpet and floor mats are made Econyl; a material made from the likes of recycled fish nets.

PERFORMANCE

The Taycan Turbo S is truly astonishing. Capable of achieving 0 – 62mph in just 2.8 seconds with Launch Control, its standing start performance is on par with the 918 Spyder. It has a seat-pinning output of 751bhp and 1,050Nm of torque, with a top speed of 162mph. Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus is equipped as standard, alongside adaptive air suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management. Porsche Active Aerodynamics and an adaptive rear spoiler makes for an enhanced dynamic driving experience typical of a Porsche. Porsche’s 93.4kWh Performance Battery Plus is fitted as standard alongside a dual-motor setup (one at each axle), and the 800-volt architecture allows for improved charging and drive performance. This means the Taycan Turbo S can achieve up to 291 miles of range (according to Porsche) and a charge power of up to 270kW. With this, a 5% - 80% charge can take around 20 minutes.

TECHNOLOGY

As expected, the Porsche Taycan Turbo S is loaded with tech for a bespoke, driver-focused experience. The Porsche Advanced Cockpit is made up of a range of intuitive screens; an innovative 16.8” curved display forms the instrument cluster, Porsche Communication Management is controlled via a 10.9” infotainment screen, and the 8.4” centre console panel acts as a charging display. A head-up display is also available. Porsche Electric Sport Sound replaces the Taycan’s usually silent presence with a unique drive sound. Charging technology includes a Charging Planner which calculates the best route for your destination, considering your current charge status and required range, whilst the My Porsche App allows you to check range, charge status, and more from your smartphone.

SAFETY

Matrix LED headlights have been fitted with Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus, which adjusts light distribution to the individual driving situation. To match its powerful output, high performance and weight-saving Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes, which found their origins in motorsport, offer impressive sopping power even in tough conditions. The Taycan Turbo S also comes with a string of driver assistance systems, including Lane Keeping Assist, cruise control, collision and brake assist, and ParkAssist. Other tech-enabled systems such as Lane Change Assist and Night Vision Assist are available as add-ons.
