Remembering 2022

The year 2022 brought some exceptional new additions to the Porsche family and the launch of a whole host of projects.

Cayenne Platinum Edition

To kick off the year 2022 with a bang Porsche launched the Cayenne Platinum Edition, a model previously known in the Panamera range which was released back in 2021. The Cayenne Platinum Edition is characterised by exclusive design elements a vehicle that will transport you not just to your destination but invigorate your driving experience.

The exclusive appearance of the Cayenne Platinum Edition is characterised by numerous exterior design features finished in satin platinum as well as stylish interior features including Crayon seat belts and brushed aluminium door entry sills with the ‘Platinum Edition’ logo to add a special touch.

The result is a particularly stylish appearance coupled with an attractive price. Platinum Editions of the Cayenne, Cayenne E-Hybrid and Cayenne S are available, as well as the corresponding Coupé variants.

911 50-Year Edition

To celebrate 50 years of Porsche Design an exclusive 911 was designed in honour of the milestone, limited to 750 vehicles. The exclusive model features a homage to the iconic designs of Ferdinand Alexander Porsche.

These features and details include the plain Black exterior, the classic checked pattern of the Sport-Tex seat centre panels and the red second hand of the Porsche Design Subsecond clock from the Sport Chrono Package another shared trait with the Chronograph I from 1972, all features of this car are heavily inspired by iconic product designs of F.A. Porsche.

As part of its anniversary, Porsche Design also relaunched a special timepiece to honour the first completely matt black wristwatch with a stopwatch function which revolutionised the world of watches in 1972. Buyers of the limited-edition car can purchase an equally exclusive timepiece to match.

Macan T

Back in February, a new member joined the Macan family the T. The Macan T. The T encapsulates everything the Macan stands for the combination of the sports car DNA with SUV practicality. However, this model has a special designation.

The letter T has represented a unique form of dynamic driving at Porsche since the 1960s. It stands for 'Touring' and identifies models that offer an especially authentic driving experience thanks to precise tuning, exclusive equipment and efficient engines. True to the spirit of the Porsche 911 T from 1968, the new Macan T features an incredibly dynamic set-up and a lightweight, two-litre turbo engine, combined with an athletic design and a range of standard equipment that is ideal for a sporty driving style. This concept positions the Macan T between the Macan and the Macan S.

911 Sport Classic

Back to the future – the second of four collector’s items that Porsche has presented in its Heritage Design Strategy.

A total of 1,250 examples of the limited-edition model by Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur will revive the style of the 1960s and early 1970s. Like its immediate predecessor, the 997-based 911 Sport Classic presented in 2009, the appearance of this model is inspired by the original 911 (1964 – 1973) and the 1972 911 Carrera RS 2.7.

The heritage Design models represent the most emotionally driven concepts of the Porsche product. The unique approach sees the Style Porsche design department working with Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur to reinterpret iconic 911 models and equipment from the 1950s through to the 1980s and to revive design features from those decades.

Taycan Hockenheimring Edition

Soul electrified – to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Hockenheimring, Porsche presents the first special edition based on its electric sports car: the Porsche Taycan GTS Hockenheimring Edition.

This first special edition of its kind highlights many features from the Exclusive Manufaktur Programme, including the paintwork Stone Grey, from the custom colour programme combined with Bronzite accents. Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur has customised the interior in black leather with decorative stitching and many other elements in Island Green. In several places, the ‘90 Jahre Hockenheimring’ anniversary logo points to the exclusive character of this Taycan GTS.

Holding its first motorcycle race in 1932 the Hockenheimring, over the years the track was developed and reshaped from its original triangular shape to a more traditional oval shape, For the future, the racetrack is pursuing its vision of developing into a modern mobility showcase. ‘Mobile evolution’ – the guiding theme of the anniversary – describes this transfer of the past into the future. ‘Traditional elegance’, meanwhile, expresses Porsche's long tradition and exclusivity. This vision has been captured in the special edition model using the future motto ‘Mobile evolution’ and ‘traditional elegance’

911 GT3 RS

Connecting closest to motorsport without being limited to the track this road-legal high-performance sports car takes full advantage of technology and concepts from motorsport.

The 4.0-litre high-revving naturally aspirated engine has been further optimised compared with the 911 GT3. The increase in power to 386 kW (525 PS). The 911 GT3 RS accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 296 km/h in the seventh gear.

The GT3 RS offers track suspension that can be adjusted from the cockpit, air inlets behind the front wheels in the style of the iconic Le Mans-winning 911 GT1, a central radiator to help boost performance, and an adjustable wing to increase aerodynamics these are just some of the things most associated with motorsport that has been developed into this road legal race car.

911 Carrera T

The letter T in the Porsche world stands for ‘Touring’ and describes models that offer a purist driving experience with exceptionally sporty equipment. The T as we know it is part of the 718 family with the Boxster and Cayman T and Macan T, we now say hello to the new 911 Carrera T and although the T designation has been known in the history of the 911 dating back to 1968 with the 911 T, the new 911 Carrera T embodies a seven-speed manual gearbox (lightest series 911 with the entry-level engine) but also available with an eight spend PDK gearbox

T specific features include 20- and 21-inch Titanium Grey Carrera S wheels, GT sports steering wheel, sports exhaust system and Sports Seats Plus (four-way, electric) these all come as standard.

718 Style Edition

Street art the Porsche way – choose your style. The 718 models just got a makeover the new 718 style edition, with contrasting colour combinations for the exterior and interior providing inspiration. Combine this with the unique agility and comfortable everyday usability of the 718 mid-engine sports car. An exclusive variant of the model with striking new designs This is particularly evident in the selection of the exterior colour Ruby Star Neo, which provides a modern interpretation of the Ruby Star of the legendary Porsche 911 Carrera RS of the 964 generation. Be a street artist.

911 Dakar

Onto the next stage the final release of the year - Right from the start the Dakar Rally was one of the greatest adventures in the world and a challenging test of endurance. With the toughest drivers, the toughest vehicles, and a legendary winner in 1984: the 911 Carrera 3.2 4x4 Paris-Dakar (953). The new 911 Dakar is designed to be as comfortable off-road as it is on the highway. the most striking differences include the ground clearance which is 50mm higher than the sports suspension on a 911 Carrera, as well as specially developed Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus tyres to contribute to the off-road attributes, the 911 Dakar can also offer optional roof baskets and roof tent for all-terrain adventures. And in honour of the 1984 Paris Dakar winning the world rally an optional Rallye Design Package from Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur offering a two-tone paint in addition to rally stripes and the ‘Rough road’ livery
