Compared with the Taycan Saloon, the Turismo rear end treatment includes a coupé-style hatchback and a higher roofline – in profile it’s both balanced and distinctive while there’s useful extra headroom for the rear-seat passengers. The GTS model includes the Sport Design package, with lots of black detailing including the model badge and side skirts in black. The Matrix LED headlights in black with Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus) include daytime running light element trims in matt black and 3D track graphics. The interior is trimmed in a combination of Race-Tex, a circuit-proven microfibre material and high quality smooth-finish leather in black. The standard GTS interior trim is black brushed aluminium, and if you choose the GTS Interior Package Crayon or Carmine Red, you’ll get decorative stitching and embroidered GTS logos on the headrests in a contrasting colour and decorative surfaces in the doors in matt carbon.
PERFORMANCE
The power output of 598PS and 850Nm of torque puts the GTS mid-way between the Taycan Sport 4S Turismo and Taycan Sport Turismo Turbo. However, the GTS has a lower powered single gear front electric motor compared with the Turbo, making it the model with the most rear-biased power delivery. The GTS takes advantage of this sport set up with 20 percent stiffer anti-roll bars front and rear, and higher spring rates. The three-chamber air suspension setup now uses all three chambers only for Normal mode, with Sport and Sport Plus using a single chamber. Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus is fitted as standard. Full throttle acceleration from 0-62mph takes a scant 3.7 seconds, with a top speed of 155mph. As the Performance Battery Plus is fitted as standard the maximum range is a useful 304 miles, while the 800V electric architecture means you can top up the battery at a high-speed charger at up to 270kW.
TECHNOLOGY
Like the rest of the Taycan range, the GTS Sport Turismo comes with a 16.8-inch Curved Display with up to five configurable views. Porsche Communication Management (PCM) include online navigation, mobile phone preparation, audio interfaces and voice control. The centre console screen features Direct Touch Control for climate settings, opening and closing of the charge port doors and battery level indicator. The Sport Chrono Package with mode switch and a dashboard mounted stop clock is also part of the specification, along with a 150-Watt sound system with ten speakers.
SAFETY
Driver and front seat passenger are both protected by full-size airbags, side airbags and knee airbags, while curtain airbags run along the entire roof frame and side windows from A-pillar to C-pillar. Assistance systems include Collision and Brake Assist, which can intervene to prevent or mitigate a front-end collision, plus Lane Keeping Assist with Traffic Sign Recognition. Parking Assist includes front and rear sensors with visual and audible warning and a rear-facing camera.
