|Cambelt and Waterpump Change^||£529|
Why does my car need a cambelt change?
The cambelt ensures that all your engine components are synchronised and are working together as they should. If you do not get your cambelt changed the belt could snap and could cause a collision of engine parts. This can cause significant damage to your engine which could be very expensive to repair. The cambelt rarely shows signs that it is damaged and needs replacement, it will simply just break. That is why we recommend getting your cambelt changed every 4-5 years (4 years for cars registered before September 2009, 5 years after). If you are a high mileage driver you may need to change your cambelt earlier.
Why does my waterpump need changing?
The waterpump works very closely to the cambelt as it pumps the coolant around the engine. Replacing the water pump at the same time as the cambelt and tensioners reduces the risk of the pump leaking and causing contamination within the engine. If the waterpump is left leaking it can seize. This could result in the engine overheating and causing significant damage.
