What do the dashboard symbols mean on my Mercedes-Benz?

Mercedes-Benz have a multitude of different warning lights depending on the issue. They also have a simple colour system to help identify the severity of the problem. For example, green lights are simply information and do not require action. Yellow lights require action, and the car should be booked into a dealership. Red lights identify a serious issue, and you should pull over immediately and call roadside assistance.

What does the yellow engine warning light mean on my Mercedes-Benz?
