Bentley’s Extraordinary Drives offers the chance to take Bentley cars on the journey of a lifetime. And the newly announced La Joie de Voyage route is the closest yet to the continental tours made by the original Bentley Boys.
This incredible international journey will take you from Kent to the south of France via some of the best driving roads in the world, culminating in an adrenaline-fuelled lap of the famous Circuit Paul Ricard.
Along this exceptional journey you will stay in exclusive residences, dine on Michelin-starred food and taste some of the finest wines across France. The experience finishes with a VIP race day in Bentley’s trackside hospitality suite.
The La Joie de Voyage Extraordinary Drive is a world-first event – here is the schedule.
The journey begins at Leeds Castle in Kent. This incredible venue is exclusively yours for dinner and an overnight stay, just as it was for the Bentley Boys before their trips.
After breakfast you will take part in a guided drive to France, going through the Eurotunnel to the northern shores of France. From there you will journey to Domaine des Hautes de Loire to stay in an ivy-clad 19th century hunting lodge.
Dinner will be served at the Chateau de Chenonceau – a former royal residence spanning the River Cher and the Loire Valley. The Chateau is privately owned by Madame Menier. However, thanks to her late husband’s love of Bentley you are invited to dinner and to view his vintage Bentleys. You’ll then be transferred back to the hunting lodge for the night.
Waking refreshed, you will be taken on a guided drive along stunning French roads to Lyon, enjoying lunch en route. Your next stop will be Chateau Les Creusettes for a wine-tasting with the region’s best sommeliers. They will take you and your palate on a tour of the region with 12 wines from the 12 villages of Beaujolais.
After a divine breakfast you will be taken on a guided drive to the south coast. This section of the trip includes the Route Napoleon – a breathtaking highway often used for road tests by manufacturers and race teams.
This picturesque route will take you to Le Couvent des Minimes – a L’Occitane-owned hotel. Here you can indulge in spa treatments and even more wine-tasting, followed by Michelin-starred food overlooking the province’s famous lavender fields.
Suitably pampered, you will depart for the Circuit Paul Ricard, one of the most beautiful race tracks in the world. While there you will receive the full VIP race experience. This includes a parade lap in your Bentley followed by pit garage tours, a chance to meet the Bentley GT3 drivers and a seat in a pre-race technical briefing.
From there, you will make your way to the hospitality suite directly above the pits and finish line for the six-hour race – one that continues through sunset and into the evening. Enjoy a barbecue on the terrace overlooking the circuit with drivers popping up to chat and give you a professional opinion of the race. After an exhilarating night you will be taken back to the hotel in Sanary-sur-Mer to rest.
To make sure you recover your energy after such an exciting trip, Sunday is dedicated to relaxation. The choice of activities is yours, from resting in the hotel spa to visiting the coast or touring local vineyards to taste the region’s famous rosé. This day of respite will be rounded off with a delicious farewell dinner.
Following breakfast you will be taken to Nice Airport to board your flight and return home.
Be one of the few to experience the exclusive luxury of a journey fit for the Bentley Boys.
The Bentley La Joie De Voyage Extraordinary Drive is a truly unique opportunity to see parts of France not usually open to the public and includes experiences unavailable elsewhere.
