A compact MPV with attitude, the new Mercedes-Benz B-Class gives a taste of the brand’s latest wave of innovation in its small car range. Built to offer all the benefits of an MPV, in a package that slips easily through narrow streets and doesn’t sprawl over the road, the B-Class is a real “small on the outside, big on the inside” car. That’s without even mentioning the style, good looks and top technology that it boasts.
The new Mercedes-Benz B-Class can be discovered in more detail and taken for a test drive at Jardine Motors Group dealerships in Essex and Suffolk today.
The new B-Class is equipped with intelligent assistance and safety systems to lend a helping hand on the road – taking the strain out of driving and keeping you and your family out of harm's way. They can identify dangers automatically, provide warnings and even intervene if necessary.
Together, these advanced systems can significantly reduce the risk of accidents, particularly during motorway driving.
With a front-wheel drive chassis as the building block for this MPV, the B-Class leads from the front. Numerous styling flourishes create visual width without making the car bigger than it needs to be; a larger grille and better-defined nose look purposeful, whilst the upswept flank crease is an eye-catching addition.
Keeping low to the ground, Mercedes-Benz has created low-level interior space and reduced the roof height, lending the car an athletic look, despite its practical leanings.
The new B-Class has a welcoming, wrap-around cabin, which sweeps seamlessly from the dashboard, centre console and around into the doors. It’s unlike anything else in its class.
The boot space is especially adaptable thanks to the adjustable rear seats, which fold down individually to increase the boot capacity to 1,540 litres. Even bulky luggage will fit comfortably.
Apart from its fully intuitive operation, the new B-Class constantly adapts to your needs and habits. For example, it notes your route to the office and can automatically offer a faster one to avoid traffic. This all forms part of the revolutionary MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) – a smart system that gets to know you more every day.
The cockpit welcomes you with two fully digital displays, forming a dramatic centrepiece in the cabin. You can even choose from three display styles – Classic, Sport and Discreet – and switch between them according to your mood and the situation.
The new B-Class understands you like never before. Want it to check the weather at your destination? Or change the radio station? Maybe read out a text, or dictate one to send? Just two words from you – "Hey, Mercedes" – and the new B-Class is all ears.
Thanks to Augmented Reality navigation, it's even easier to find your way around. The optional system merges the virtual and real worlds by overlaying graphics and traffic information onto live images of your surroundings, which are shown to you on the media display.
