Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class Coupe

Coupe styling with SUV performance places the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe as one of the most impressive crossover vehicles on the market. This rugged yet svelte SUV will also feature the latest and most advanced of the manufacturer’s technology – and a petrol-electric plug-in hybrid will also be available for drivers conscious of their running costs and environmental impact.

Get in touch with the Lancaster Mercedes-Benz dealerships in Chelmsford, Colchester, Ipswich, Lakeside (Thurrock) or Southend to find out more about the GLE-Class, or to book a test drive.

GLE-Class Range

Six airbags supplement the frame of the GLE Coupé in protecting occupants from harm in the event of an impact.

A range of advanced active safety measures, meanwhile, are aimed at ensuring that an accident does not occur in the first place.

As well as a sophisticated Electronic Stability Programme with Acceleration Skid Control, standard equipment includes Attention Assist, which sounds an audible alert when signs of fatigue are detected, and Collision Prevention Assist, which depresses the brake automatically if a collision is imminent.

The elegance of its sloping roofline accentuates the GLE Coupé’s high-performance character.

Meanwhile a substantial height of 1796mm adds to the purposeful look of its prominent chrome-lined grille, gaping air intakes, wide apron and sculpted bonnet.

Deep character lines, as well as 19”, 20” or 21” alloy wheels (depending on specification) are accompanied by stylish dual exhausts integrated into the rear bumper.

LED lights and roof rails provide the finishing touches to the vehicle’s exterior, emphasising its premium image.

The streamlined elegance of the vehicle’s exterior has no effect on a spacious, sumptuous cabin that ensures maximum comfort even on the longest journeys.

Adaptive dampers and excellent insulation also contribute to the car’s impressive ride quality.

The GLE Coupé offers buyers the choice of two diesel engines, a petrol unit, and a state-of-the-art petrol-electric hybrid.

Even the least powerful motor, the 2.2 litre 250d diesel, thrusts the vehicle from 0-62mph in 8.6 seconds, whilst returning combined fuel consumption of 47.9mpg and carbon emissions of 155g/km.

The 5.5 litre V8 petrol engine delivers even more blistering performance, reaching 0-62mph in a phenomenal 4.2 seconds. The hybrid motor, meanwhile, returns an almost equivalent level of performance, combined fuel economy of 76.4mpg, and CO2 output as low as 78g/km.

4MATIC four-wheel drive and a nine-speed automatic transmission (or, on AMG models, the specialised seven-speed SPEEDSHIFT gearbox) ensures maximum response and stability.

A variety of infotainment functions are at the driver’s fingertips, via the free-standing 8” COMAND ONLINE touchscreen in the middle of the centre console. A reversing camera and sensors are also standard, allowing you to manoeuvre this bulky SUV into any suitable parking space. Heated front seats and automatic climate control, meanwhile, only increase the serene feel of the interior.
