Design

The only thing the Audi A6 e-tron concept has in common with the current A6 are its dimensions: 4.96-metres-long, 1.96-metres-wide, and 1.44-metres-high. The A6 e-tron has a flatback design typical of the brand, using smooth aerodynamic lines to boost efficiency whilst creating an elegant and charismatic appearance. Striking styling features include 22” wheels, short overhangs and coupe roofline, and the long wheelbase means there’s ample legroom for passengers.

The A6 e-tron concept has a large, enclosed grille painted in Audi’s Heliosilver colour to contrast with the matte black frame. Not only does this paint accentuate the A6 e-tron body with a 3D depth effect, but it also reflects heat from the sunlight to limit the need for air conditioning in the summer months. This equals reduced energy consumption and more range. Above the grille there’s super slim digital matrix LED headlights and camera-based wing mirrors.

Technology

A big talking point for the Audi A6 e-tron concept is the Digital Matrix LED headlights, which project an interactive video game developed by the Audi team onto a wall. Players control the game via their smartphone, with the idea that you can play the game whilst parked up charging the car.

Audi hasn’t revealed what the A6 e-tron’s cabin will look like yet, but we’re expecting it to look similar to that of the e-tron GT and Q4 e-tron.

Safety

The A6 e-tron’s headlights use Digital Matrix LED and Digital OLED technology for maximum brightness without dazzling other drivers. The headlights adapt to individual traffic situations, the weather and different surroundings for the best lighting, and also allow for a range of customisable light signatures. Small projectors are built into the car to cast different light features onto the floor, for example when indicating to make pedestrians aware of when/where you’re turning.
