Design

Featuring a wide upright single frame grille, revised air inlet grilles, and a muscular yet sleek body, the A8 emphasizes a sporty elegance and sophistication. The wheel arches showcase quattro drive, while newly designed HD Matrix LED headlights, available as standard on the S line trim, and OLED rear lights mean this flagship model owns the road day and night, producing unique light animations as the driver approaches and leaves the car. Space is often considered to be the ultimate luxury and the A8 does not disappoint, with the A8 L surpassing the standard version in length and wheelbase by 13cm. Drivers are able to enjoy more room in the front comfort seats in Valcona leather and your perfect position is stored in your personal profile.

Performance & Technology

The A8 is available in three engines: a 50 TDI and a 55 TFSI, and the plug-in hybrid 60 TFSI e. The diesel develops 286hp, the petrol version 340hp, and the plug-in hybrid 449hp. With quattro all-wheel drive as standard and power that is transferred via an 8-speed Tiptronic gearbox, you’re guaranteed fast and smooth gear shifts, plus with mild hybrid technology in the diesel and petrol variants, the car can coast with the engine switched off. For those looking for more ‘oomph’, the performance focused S8 uses a more powerful V8 engine. Adaptive air suspension can be manually raised by 25mm for easier access when getting into the car and you can choose from a range of driving modes via Audi drive select. Fully loaded with impressive technology, the A8 sets the benchmark in being technically advanced. The cabin hosts a 12.3” virtual cockpit and twin infotainment displays with MMI Touch Response system, so everything is at your fingertips. The optional head up display projects important information on to your windscreen so you’re always alert while on the move.

Safety

The A8 comes with a host of driver assistance systems aimed to help keep you safe on the road. Automated emergency braking with pedestrian detections comes as standard alongside lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist. Also available is adaptive cruise control, a surround-view camera, and proximity detection, where if another vehicle approaches the car from less than 2m behind, the OLED rear lights fully illuminate. The driver assistance varies across each trim level, but the entry level Sport model is impressive from the off.
