HOW TO CHANGE THE BATTERY IN AN AUDI A3 KEY FOB

It goes without saying that the key is an essential component to a car, and while you may have the fallback of a spare key, it is important to know how to change the battery on your Audi A3 key fob.


KNOWING WHEN TO CHANGE THE BATTERY

When you are using the key, the LED light will indicate that your Audi A3 key fob is functioning correctly. If you briefly press a button, the LED will blink once, and if you hold down a button, the LED will blink several times.

If the LED does not blink at all when a button is pressed, then the key fob battery is drained. If this happens, it is an indication that it is time to replace the key fob battery on your Audi A3.

CHANGING THE BATTERY

If the battery is drained, you can put in a replacement battery by following these steps. The first thing to note is that the new battery must be the same type as the original battery, which for a new or approved used Audi A3 will be the CR 2032 battery. To replace the battery:

  • Remove the mechanical key and insert it at an angle into the remote-control key.
  • To remove the battery cover, press in the mechanical key inside the remote-control key so far in the direction of the battery cover that the cover slightly lifts up.
  • Lift off the battery cover.
  • Remove the existing battery and insert the new one with the “+” symbol facing upwards, and place the battery cover back on.
  • Reinsert the mechanical key.

By following these steps, you should have successfully replaced the key fob battery for your Audi A3.

OTHER THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW
